Crédit des Alpes buys Redaelli

Crédit des Alpes, the banking group having subsidiaries in Geneva and Lugano, has invested in the Italian company Redaelli Tecna, of Brescia. Redaelli is one of the largest world producers of steel wires and of pre-stressing steel (used in concrete). Sales are about 247 million of Swiss Francs. To finalize the transaction the Italian company Sopaf will eventually sell 95% of Redaelli's shares to American investment fund Kohlberg for an undisclosed price. Crédit des Alpes was the investment banker together with Vasiliou of New York. The remaining 5% of the capital will continue to be owned by Fin 2000, investment fund of the Milanese University Bocconi.
